You see it all the time on Dragons' Den or Shark Tank in the States.
A founder walks in with a strong idea.
The pitch starts well.
Then a Dragon asks a simple question…
And everything falls apart.
They hesitate.
They ramble.
They lose their structure.
Not because the idea is weak -
But because they’re under pressure.
I see the same thing with Bitcoin builders.
You understand your idea.
You’ve done the work.
But when someone challenges you in English, your communication breaks down.
Here are 3 key principles to stay in control:
Clarity — keep your answer simple and direct
Structure — organise your response (point → explanation → example)
Control — slow down and guide the conversation
Try this simple framework:
Slow the room
“That’s a fair question. Let’s break it down.”Clarify the question
“Are you asking about scalability or security?”Bridge back
Answer briefly, then return to your key message
It’s not about perfect English.
It’s about staying clear when it matters.
Watch what happens when the pressure hits 👇
